Boulogne hoverport really was a futuristic building at the time, with its filleted-edge concrete features looking like something straight out of Thunderbirds. The hoverport buildings still stand, deserted and delrelict, today. It is not known what the plans are for them. The tower on site is used occupied in a business capacity, though for what purpose I do not know.
SRN4s on the pad at the original Boulogne Hoverport
These images kindly sent by Nicolas Levy, are of Boulogne Hoverport both in its hey day back in the 1960's, 70's and 80's, and how it was in 2005 before it was finally demolished to make way for new developments.
Some shots from around and inside the hoverport buildings as they stood in 2005.
Many thanks to Nicolas Levy for sending these splendid photographs to me.
Postcard images sent by Nigel Thornton.
